🎓 Eligibility Criteria for UP PCS 2026

1. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years as of July 01, 2026.

- Age Relaxations: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, OBC, skilled players of U.P., and state government employees. Persons with Disabilities (PH) receive a 15-year relaxation (up to 55 years).
2. Educational Qualification
- Base Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university up to the last date of application submission.
- Specific Post Qualifications: Certain roles demand specialized degrees. For instance:
- Assistant Prosecuting Officer (Transport): Law Degree.
- Food Safety Officer: Degree in Food Technology, Dairy Tech, Biotech, Agricultural Science, or related fields.
- Statistical Officer: Postgraduate degree in Economics, Sociology, Commerce, Law, or related fields.
📝 UPPSC Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The UPPSC PCS 2026 Examination is a highly competitive three-stage process:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type): Consists of two compulsory papers (General Studies-I and General Studies-II/CSAT) held on the same day. Both papers are 200 marks each. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd (0.33) for every incorrect answer. CSAT is a qualifying paper requiring a minimum of 33% marks.
- Main Examination (Conventional/Descriptive): Candidates who clear the prelims cut-off will face 8 descriptive papers (General Hindi, Essay, and GS Papers I to VI), totaling 1500 marks.
- Personality Test (Interview): A viva-voce test carrying 100 marks evaluates a candidate’s general awareness, character, and suitability for civil services.

You must pay the application fee before the July 27 deadline to successfully register.
- Unreserved (General) / EWS / OBC: Rs. 125/- (Exam Fee Rs. 100 + Online Processing Rs. 25).
- SC / ST Candidates of U.P.: Rs. 65/- (Exam Fee Rs. 40 + Online Processing Rs. 25).
- Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 65/-.
- Persons with Disabilities (PWDs): Rs. 25/- (Only processing fee; Exam fee is NIL).
