Odisha Launches India’s First Dedicated MICE Incentive Portal
Odisha launched India’s first dedicated digital portal for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) incentives on 4 October 2026. The portal was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida during the Odisha Travel Bazaar 2026. The initiative aims to promote Odisha as a destination for business events and simplify access to tourism incentives through a digital platform.
What is MICE Tourism?
MICE tourism is a segment of business tourism involving organised travel and events related to:
- Meetings
- Incentives
- Conferences
- Exhibitions
It includes corporate conventions, incentive trips, trade exhibitions, professional networking events and other organised business gatherings.
MICE tourism can generate demand for accommodation, transport, hospitality, convention facilities, local experiences and other tourism services.
Odisha’s MICE Incentive Portal
The new portal provides a digital mechanism for event organisers and tourism operators to apply for financial incentives.
It is designed to promote Odisha as a destination for corporate conventions and other large-scale events while making the incentive application process more transparent and efficient.
The initiative also forms part of wider efforts to expedite approvals for MICE events, destination weddings, sports events and ventures associated with cultural heritage.
The government has proposed targeted capital subsidies for eligible tourism projects, while the private sector can submit recommendations to address administrative bottlenecks affecting tourism-related approvals.
Odisha Tourism Policy and MICE Hub
The incentive framework has been introduced under the Odisha Tourism (Amendment) Policy, 2026.
The policy seeks to develop the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradip region as a major MICE tourism hub.
The region combines urban infrastructure, cultural heritage, religious tourism, coastal attractions and connectivity. Odisha also plans to integrate MICE tourism with destination weddings, experiential tourism, local cuisine tours and cultural events.
