KAUMARACON 2026
Vice-President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated KAUMARACON 2026 on 15 October 2026 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Sarita Vihar, New Delhi. The third International Conference on Kaumarabhritya is being held from 15 to 17 October 2026 to promote research, clinical practice and knowledge exchange in Ayurveda-based child healthcare. The event also marks the 10th Foundation Day of AIIA, highlighting the institute’s role in education, research and healthcare under India’s traditional systems of medicine.
What Is Kaumarabhritya?
Kaumarabhritya is the branch of Ayurveda concerned with paediatrics and child health. It is traditionally recognised as one of the eight branches of Ayurveda, known collectively as Ashtanga Ayurveda.
This discipline addresses child growth and development, nutrition, preventive healthcare and the management of childhood illnesses within the Ayurvedic framework. KAUMARACON 2026 brings together specialists, researchers, clinicians and academic representatives from India and other countries to discuss developments in the field.
The inauguration was attended by Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush; Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush; Dr Maneesha Upendra Kothekar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM); and Professor P. K. Prajapati, Director of AIIA.
