Why in News?

Bharat Tex 2026, India’s flagship global textile and apparel exhibition, is being held from 14 July to 17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan) and Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre) in New Delhi. Organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation with the support of the Ministry of Textiles, the event serves as a comprehensive platform for showcasing India’s textile value chain, promoting exports, attracting investments, and strengthening global partnerships.

About Bharat Tex 2026

Bharat Tex is one of the world’s largest integrated textile and apparel trade exhibitions, bringing together manufacturers, exporters, buyers, investors, policymakers, technology providers, and global brands under one platform.

The 2026 edition marks the third edition of the event and is spread across over 1.6 million square feet, making it one of the largest textile exhibitions globally. More than 20,000 textile and apparel products are expected to be displayed, representing the entire textile ecosystem—from fibres and yarns to fabrics, garments, technical textiles, machinery, and sustainable innovations.

The exhibition is projected to attract over 7,000 international buyers and nearly 1.3 lakh trade visitors from more than 20 countries, highlighting India’s growing importance in the global textile supply chain.

Key Highlights of Bharat Tex 2026

The event features an extensive business and networking programme aimed at boosting India’s textile exports and global competitiveness.

Major highlights include:

  • Over 4,000 Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings between buyers and manufacturers.
  • More than 100 Business-to-Government (B2G) interactions involving policymakers and industry stakeholders.
  • Signing of over 30 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) covering investment, trade, sustainability, technology, and innovation.
  • More than 100 knowledge sessions, including panel discussions, policy dialogues, masterclasses, startup showcases, and state investment sessions.

These activities are expected to facilitate technology transfer, market access, investment promotion, and international collaboration across the textile sector.

Significance of Bharat tex

India is one of the world’s largest producers of cotton, silk, jute, and man-made fibres, and the textile sector is among the country’s largest employment generators after agriculture.

Bharat Tex 2026 supports the Government of India’s vision of transforming the country into a global textile manufacturing hub by promoting innovation, exports, sustainability, and investment.

The event also aligns with the Prime Minister’s 5F Vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, Fashion to Foreign, which seeks to strengthen the entire textile value chain and enhance India’s global competitiveness.

By connecting domestic manufacturers with international buyers and investors, Bharat Tex contributes to export growth, technology adoption, employment generation, and the expansion of India’s textile economy.
