What is the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)?
Launched by the Government of India, the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to build a National Digital Health Ecosystem (NDHE) that connects patients, hospitals, healthcare professionals, laboratories, pharmacies, and insurance providers through an integrated digital platform.
The mission promotes interoperable digital health records, ensuring that patients can securely access and share their medical information across healthcare providers with their consent. ABDM is regarded as one of the world’s largest digital health ecosystems, supporting efficient, transparent, and patient-centric healthcare services.
Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)
The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a unique digital health ID assigned to every individual. It allows citizens to create, store, and securely share their health records through consent-based mechanisms, giving patients greater control over their medical data.
The ABHA number forms the foundation of India’s National Digital Health Ecosystem, enabling seamless healthcare services across both public and private healthcare institutions.
