Air Vice Marshal Shakti Sharma assumed charge as the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education) on 1 September 2026. She officially took office at Air Headquarters in New Delhi.
With this appointment, she became the first non-medical woman officer in Indian Armed Forces history to achieve a two-star general rank.
