Aero India 2027: 16th Edition of Asia’s Largest Air Show

Aero India 2027, the 16th edition of Asia’s largest aerospace and defence exhibition, will be held at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Organised under the Ministry of Defence, the biennial event serves as India’s premier platform for showcasing advancements in defence manufacturing, aerospace technology, military aviation, and indigenous innovation. It also strengthens collaboration between Indian and global defence industries, armed forces, research organisations, and policymakers.

The event will be coordinated by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) as the nodal agency, while Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) will serve as a supporting organisation.

What is Aero India?

Aero India is a biennial international air show and aviation exhibition organised by the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence. It brings together aircraft manufacturers, defence companies, military delegations, aerospace industries, startups, and international exhibitors to showcase cutting-edge defence technologies and promote business partnerships.

Apart from aerial displays, Aero India features defence exhibitions, technology demonstrations, business meetings, and strategic dialogues, making it one of the most significant defence events in the Asia-Pacific region.

Aero India 2027 and India’s Defence Vision

The Government of India has set an ambitious target of achieving ₹3 lakh crore in defence manufacturing and ₹50,000 crore in defence exports by 2029-30. Aero India plays a crucial role in supporting these objectives by promoting indigenous defence production under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and attracting global investment in India’s aerospace ecosystem.

The event provides opportunities for public sector undertakings, private defence manufacturers, MSMEs, startups, and foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to showcase their products and technologies.
