
Aero India 2027: 16th Edition to Be Held in Bengaluru
Why in News?
The 16th edition of Aero India will be held at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru, from 8 to 12 February 2027. The Ministry of Defence announced the event on 2 September 2026. The Department of Defence Production (DDP) will serve as the primary organiser. Aero India is an important international aerospace and defence exhibition. It brings together aircraft manufacturers, defence companies, military organisations and technology providers from across the world.

The Aero India 2027 exhibition will use nine hangars, numbered A to I. Hangars A and B will be reserved for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
Online registration and exhibition-space booking for global exhibitors will begin on 3 September 2026 through the Aero India web portal.
Aero India and India’s Defence Industry
Aero India is described as Asia’s largest air show. The event provides a platform for defence companies to display aircraft, weapons, aerospace technologies and military systems. It also supports India’s objectives of promoting defence manufacturing and defence exports. India’s annual defence exports reached ₹38,424 crore in FY 2025–26. These exports include missiles, aircraft components, electronics, ammunition and other approved military systems.
Previous Aero India Edition
The 15th Aero India was held from 10 to 14 February 2025. The event attracted around 900 exhibitors, including approximately 150 international participants. It also witnessed participation from 26 defence ministers and 118 global CEOs. The 2027 edition is therefore expected to further strengthen India’s position as an aerospace and defence manufacturing and export hub.
