Why in News?
Adani Defence & Aerospace laid the foundation stone for a ₹2,500 crore missile manufacturing facility at Pali, Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, on 5 July 2026. The project aims to establish South Asia’s largest private-sector missile manufacturing ecosystem, strengthening India’s indigenous defence production capabilities.

- The facility will manufacture medium and long-range missile systems along with critical components such as composite propellants, TNT, and explosive-grade materials.
- The project seeks to integrate the complete missile manufacturing value chain under one industrial ecosystem.
- The foundation stone was laid in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Jeet Adani.
Employment and Strategic Significance
The project is expected to:
- Generate nearly 5,000 direct and indirect skilled jobs over the next three years.
- Integrate more than 50 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) into the defence manufacturing supply chain.
- Strengthen India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative by expanding private-sector participation in defence production.
- Enhance domestic capabilities in missile manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports.
The facility is expected to become operational within three years.
