India’s Ministry of Mines is planning strategic initiatives to bolster the nation’s mineral security. A committee has proposed the creation of a “Centre of Excellence on Critical Minerals” to update and strategize the country’s minerals framework. Critical minerals, essential for various industrial, technological, and defense applications, face high supply risks. To mitigate this, the government is ensuring consistent supply through international collaborations, amending the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act to include critical minerals, and investing in research and international collaborations.

India’s aviation sector is prioritizing sustainability and increased connectivity. Key airports have achieved Carbon Neutral status, and 66 are now using 100% green energy. The RCS-UDAN initiative, promoting accessible air travel, intends to develop 100 underserved facilities by 2024. With increased financial transparency and strategic leasing plans, this reflects a comprehensive shift towards a sustainable, inclusive aviation landscape.
